VITEEE 2015 Exam, Eligibility Criteria – Check Here

The Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) is a standardized online test conducted by VIT University for admissions to undergraduate engineering courses. The computer based entrance test is conducted in India and abroad every year. VITEEE 2015 is slotted to be conducted from 8 April 2015 to 19 April 2015. Every student who intends on taking the entrance exam, should verify the eligibility norms for the exam first. Violation of the eligibility requirements will lead to direct disqualification of candidates for admissions. The eligibility conditions for VITEEE 2015 have been stated below, for the reference of candidates.
VITEEE 2015 Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

The applicant for admissions to the University should be a Resident or Non Resident Indian National.
Age Limit

Only candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1 July 1993 will be eligible to apply for VITEEE 2015. The date of birth of the candidate as recorded in the High School / X Certificate /SSC will be considered authentic.

Qualifying Examination

Only candidates who have completed Full time, Regular and Formal Education are eligible to apply for the VIT Engineering Entrance Examination 2015.Applicants should have either completed or should be appearing in any one of the following qualifying examinations in 2015:

The final examination of the 10+2 system (Higher Secondary Examination) conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), State Board or the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE)
Pre-University Examination or Intermediate Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or IB (International Baccalaureate) Diploma.
General Certificate Education (GCE) examination at the Advanced (A) Level.
Qualifying Percentage
The qualifying percentage for candidates appearing for the Engineering Entrance Examination in 2015 is an aggregate of 60% in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology in the qualifying examination.
The average marks obtained in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics /Biology in the qualifying examination should be 50% for candidates from the following categories:

  • Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe category candidates.
  • Candidates from the North Eastern states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Sikkim, Nagaland and Tripura and Jammu and Kashmir.

Candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics will be eligible for admissions to all the 15 Engineering Degree Programmes of VIT University. However, candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology will be eligible only for Biotechnology programmes and B.Tech.Bio-Medical Engineering. Such candidates are also eligible for B.Tech. Computer Science and Bioinformatics Engineering, but will have to mandatorily register for Mathematics as a bridge course on joining.
