DU MBBS 2016 admissions on the basis of AIPMT 2016 results

Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Delhi will make admissions for DU MBBS 2016 under 85% DU quota on the basis of the marks or merit obtained by candidates in the All India Pre Medical Test 2016. Students who wish to seek admission for the MBBS or BDS programme in Delhi University need to appear for the AIPMT 2016, which is scheduled to take place on 3rd May 2016. University will NOT hold its own medical entrance exam, DUMET.

The application forms for the DU MBBS 2016 will be made available in May 2015. The price of the forms last year was Rs.750 (for general and OBC candidates), Rs.550 (for SC and ST candidates) and nil (for PWD candidates).

The DU colleges that offer MBBS programme are Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS) and Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC), while BDS programme is offered at Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences (MAIDS). 85 per cent of the seats would be filled by Delhi University. The remaining 15 per cent seats would be filled under All India Quota directly by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), again on the basis of the AIPMT 2015 results.

The website of  fmsc.ac.in will upload the merit list of the applicants, following which the aspirants must approach the Faculty of Medical Sciences within the stipulated date as per the schedule.

Once the counselling for the DU MBBS 2016 starts, applicants would be called on the basis of their AIPMT performance in a batch of 10. They can then choose a college and the respective course from the choices available to them. The candidates would be required to carry their AIPMT admission ticket and original certificates including the result card of AIPMT 2016 when they come for the counselling. Candidates who could not b alloted any seat due to all seats gettting occupied, or those who do not opt for any seat during the counselling would be waitlisted. Absentees will not be waitlisted.

Female candidates applying for the MBBS programme may opt for MAMC, LHMC or UCMS, while male candidates may opt only for either MAMC or UCMS. Both male and female candidates can apply for BDS course at MAIDS.

The duration of the MBBS programme is 4.5 years, followed by an year of compulsory rotating Internship Training. Whereas the duration of the BDS programme is 4 years, followed by an year of compulsory rotating Internship Training. The medium of teaching and examination for both the courses would be English.
