Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Exam 2016 will be conducted by Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU). Through this exam various colleges of Uttar Pradesh will grant admission to candidates in offered engineering courses. Candidates will be able to fill application from in March but dates for it has not been announced. UPSEE 2016 Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility Criteria are those rules and regulation which all the candidates must fulfill to apply for exam. UPSE 2016 eligibility criteria is as below:
- Candidates must have passed 10+2 from a recognized board
- In qualifying exam candidates must have attained at least 45% marks. For SC/ST candidates this criteria is 40%
- Candidates should have passed qualifying exam with Physics and Maths as core subjects. As optional subjects candidates should have any of Chemistry or Bio-Technology or Biology
This is the general eligibility criteria of UPSEE 2016. UPTU has very specifically defined criteria for all the various categories. The eligibility for NRI, Lateral Entry Candidate and Persons of Indian Origin is mentioned below. Candidates are advised to check UPSEE eligibility criteria 2016 as per the category the fall under.
UPSEE 2016 Eligibility Criteria for Lateral Entry Candidate
For lateral enter Engineering Diploma holder/ B.Sc. Qualifiers who passed class XII with Mathematics are eligible. These candidates should have attained degree from GBTU and MTU affiliated institution.
Residents of Uttar Pradesh who attained their diploma from Institute located in U.P are also eligible. Clause under this that candidate must have scored, minimum, 45% marks in diploma course. For SC/ST minimum marks to be attained is 40%. If applicant is not a residential of U.P but his/ her parents are. And they have achieved 45% marks (GEN and 40% for ST/SC) in diploma from engineering branch, are also eligible.
UPSEE 2016 Eligibility Criteria for NRI
NRI candidates seeking admission in colleges of Uttar Pradesh via UPTU 2016. There are 5% seats reserved for NRI candidate provided:
They have passed their qualifying exam with 50% marks (for general category) and 45% marks of (SC/ST category). With Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. These candidate must be son/ daughter/ sibling of NRI parents.
UPSEE 2016 Eligibility Criteria for POI/ FN/ CIWGC
Person of India/ Foreign Nationals/ Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries (CIWGC) can also apply for UPSEE 2016 but:
They must have class XII or equivalent exam from a recognized Institution/ Board. Subjects in qualifying exam must be Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidate should also have a valid SAT-II score in PCM. These candidates will have to submit copy of proof of their nationality like passport.
