How to Use JEE Advanced Rank Predictor

JEE Advanced Rank Predictor is a great tool which can help candidates to know their estimated rank before it is announced officially by Joint Entrance Examination committee. With the help of the rank predictor, candidates can calculate what rank they should expect in the examination for admission in engineering UG courses in the Indian Institute of Technology and Indian School of Mining. Entrance Corner will develop the rank predictor for all the curious candidates after the exam is over. It will help them to deduce many results on the basis of their performance in the examination. There are several steps that have to be completed before using the rank predictor. All these steps along with proper use of rank predictor are described in this article.

Precursors to Use the Rank Predictor

i. Answer Key
First, you must procure an answer key. It is the compilation of all the correct answers to the questions asked in the examination which helps to calculate the approx marks in the result. The process of using answer key is fairly simple. All you need to do is obtain the correct answer key which matches the question paper code you were assigned in the examination. Thereafter, you need to start matching the answers. For the marking scheme, you can refer to the exam pattern which mentions the marks for correct and incorrect answers. It is suggested to use the CBSE’s official answer key for the purpose since it contains all the correct answers in proper scheme. Without the help of correct answer key, you will not be able to predict accurate rank in JEE Advanced Rank Predictor.

ii. Exam Pattern
Candidates must be aware of the marking scheme before they start using the answer key. It will help them to know how many marks are to be allotted for the correct and incorrect answers. By this you will be able to add marks for the correct and deduct for the incorrect. Exam pattern for JEE Advanced can be seen either on the official website of Entrance Corner or brochure of JEE Advanced .

Calculation of Marks using Answer Key
Once you have obtained the answer key and exam pattern, you can start with the process of calculation of estimated score. Start matching the answers and see how many marks you obtain. Add marks for the correct answers (the ones which match the answer key) and deduct for the incorrect answers (the ones which doesn’t matches the answer key). When all the answers are completed, add the final score to see the estimated score. These are your approx marks in the JEE Advanced 2015 Entrance Examination.

Usage of Rank Predictor of JEE Advanced
Feed the estimated score in the Entrance Corner’s rank predictor for JEE Advanced. On submission of the marks, press the submit button. Your estimated rank will now be shown on the screen.
