GATE 2017: Information Broucher is available now

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is a national level exam conducted for the gradate candidates for providing them admission in engineering post graduation courses and for recruitment as well. The main motive of conducting the test is to check the understanding of candidates for the engineering subjects. The exam is conducted every year. This article contains details for GATE 2017 so that the interested candidates can gather all the required details to apply for the exam.
GATE 2017 application forms will be available from 1 September 2016. The candidates those who want to appear in exam can submit their application forms before the last date of form submission, i.e. 4 October 2016. After that no form will be accepted under any circumstances. Exam will be conducted on 30 & 31 January and 6 & 7 February 2016. The admit card for the registered candidates will be released on 5 January 2017. Result for the exam will be released on 27 March 2017.
Prior to filling the application for the exam, candidates must make sure that they are completely eligible for the same. For that they need to check the eligibility conditions for GATE 2017. They must submit their application for the exam if and only if they fulfill all the required eligibility. If any of the condition remains unsatisfied, they their application will not be accepted.
Eligible candidates can submit their applications till the last submission date. The application for GATE 2017 will be completed through GOAPS. Candidates will have to first register themselves for the exam. After their registration they need to login again and complete the application form. The details entered by them must be complete and correct in all aspect. Once the application for the exam has been submitted, they must pay the application fees for GATE 2016. Without the application fees, no form will be considered complete.
Application fees to be paid by women and SC, ST, PwD category candidates is 750/-, whereas for the General and OBC category the fees is 1500/-. It can be paid ether by offline or online mode.
Board will be releasing the admit card for the candidates those who successfully register themselves for the exam. It will be available on the website of GATE on or after 17 December 2016. It will not be sent to them via any other mode.
Result for the exam will be released on 19 March 2016. It will be available on the Offcial website of GATE. Candidates can check their score on the website. IISc will be releasing the scorecards only for the qualified candidates. This score card will be valid for three years from the date of issuance.

KVPY Application Form to be filled by 30 August

The Kishore Vaigyanic Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is a national level fellowship program administered by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India for students who are pursuing basic science at the secondary and higher secondary level. It helps inculcate a practice and passion for research among the students who have studied science in the Higher Secondary School. The KVPY is conducted in order to facilitate the students who wish to pursue science in their undergraduate degrees. KVPY Application Form has been issued for the aspirants that can be filled till 30 August.
Eligibility Criteria

To fill KVPY Application Form, candidates must have satisfy all the eligibility criteria.
1. SA Stream – The candidates in class 11th in the academic year are eligible. They must secure atleast a minimum of 80% marks in mathematics and science in the class X Board examination. They must also secure a minimum of 60% marks in the core subjects in class XII Board examination.
2. SX Stream – The candidates must be in class 12th in the academic year. They must also secure a minimum of 60% marks in the core subjects in class XII Board examination.
3. SB Stream – The candidate must be in the first year of Undergraduate program in basic Sciences. They must also secure a minimum of 60% marks in the core subjects in class XII Board examination and at least 60% in the subject they are pursuing after the 1st year to access the fellowship.
KVPY Application Form filling Process

  • The first step is to visit the official website of the KVPY.
  • Click on the tab indicating ‘Application’.
  • Click on the link indicating ‘Apply Online’.
  • Choose the stream you want to pursue.
  • You will then be asked to enter your details in the application form.

Make sure you go through the details before you click on submit.The candidates can also apply offline. To do this the candidate must download the KVPY Application Form available online and send it to the following address–

KVPY Application Form: Fees

  • The application fees remains the same for all categories.
  • The candidates need to make a payment of Rs. 200.
  • The application fees can be paid using both online options such as credit card/debit card/net banking or offline options using an SBI Challan.

Selection Procedure

  • The written aptitude test is the first level of the two-tier selection process for the KVPY. The candidate can choose to write the exam in either Hindi or English. Those who qualify the written aptitude test are then called for the next round of selection.
  • The interview round is the second level of the KVPY selection procedure. Those who clear the written test are called for the interview round. The candidates are judged on their knowledge of technicality and are expected to show their best of knowledge in this round.
