How to download JEE Main Result

JEE Main Result– The result of JEE Main 2017 will be announced on April 27, 2017 by CBSE. All the candidates who take the exam on 2, 8, and 9 April 2017 can check these results either on the Entrance Corner site. Result is the performance scale which tells how well a candidate has performed in the exam. Based on the score obtained in the examination, ranks will be allotted on four scales – all India, all India categorical, state, and state categorical.

Downloading procedure of JEE Main 2017 Result

  • Open the official website of CBSE
  • Click the link for result (scorecard or rank) on the homepage.
  • Enter roll number, date of birth, and other asked details.
  • Check the information and remove any mistake in details.
  • Press submit button to view the score/rank on screen.
  • Press print button to take printout of the result/rank card.
  • Keep the printout safe to produce later whenever demanded.

JEE Main Result will be the deciding parameter for evaluation of merit for admissions and inclusion in the merit list. Higher the score in the examination imply lower the rank which in turn means – early call for counselling and preference in allotment. To delimit the number of candidates in the admission process for limited number of seats, CBSE will set a selection criterion known as cutoff. Those who are able to score marks more than or even equal to the cutoff, will be considered as qualified. The rest of the candidates will be rejected from admission process.

JEE Main Exam will be conducted in April 2018

Joint Entrance Exam Main Exam which is popularly known as JEE Main is one of the most famous national level engineering entrance exams. The CBSE will conduct the JEE Main Exam in the month of April and result will be announced on 27 April 2017. The exam will be held in an offline mode, i.e. pen and paper mode. Eligibility Criteria for JEE Main 2017

  • Age Limit: A candidate in general category must have born on or after 1 October 1992, while a candidate belonging to SC, ST, and PwD category, on 1 October 1987.
  • Qualifications: A candidate who is either pursuing or has passed 12th or equivalent exam in 2015 or 2016 with Physics, Chemistry, and Maths being the compulsory subjects can apply. In other words, the one who has passed 12th or equivalent exam in 2014 or before is ineligible to apply.
  • Number of Subjects in 12th class: The number of subjects a candidate should have studied in the 12th or equivalent exam.
  • Limit with respect attempts: A candidate can appear in JEE Main Exam for maximum 3 times.

JEE Main 2017 Application Form

  • The JEE Main Application form needs to be filled by the candidates in an online mode only.

  • The JEE Main Application form will be made available by the CBSE from the first week of December 2016.

  • The Application form will be accepted by the CBSE on one form – one application basis. If a candidate submits more than one application, his/her application will be rejected.

How to check JEE Main Result

JEE Main 2017 Result – For all the candidates who took JEE Main 2017 on 2, 8, and 9 April 2017, CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) will declare detailed scorecard on 27 April 2017. They can access scorecard and rank card from the official website of the board by providing some basic details correctly. The board will not post physical copy of the result in any form to the candidate’s residential address. It can only be downloaded in online mode from either CBSE official website or EntranceCorner.

JEE Main Result in the candidate can find the following information – marks obtained in math, physics, and chemistry, aggregate marks, cutoff, and qualification status (scorecard) and all India rank, all India categorical rank, state rank, and state categorical rank (rank card). The rank will be assigned as per the marks obtained in the examination. Higher the rank means lower the score in the examination. Candidates will be assigned rank after ordering them in the decreasing order of marks in the result. The candidate with highest marks will be placed at the top. The marks obtained in the scorecard and resultant rank will be used to decide merit for allotment.

To check JEE Main 2017 Result, candidates have to access the official website of the CBSE and click the link for result. Thereafter, they must enter roll number, application number, and other asked details correctly in the respective fields. Once these details are entered and submit button is pressed, result (score or rank) will be shown on the screen. It can now be printed on an A4 size sheet for reference purpose.
