IIST 2015 Admission

IIST is Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology which is located in Valiamala, Thiruvananthapuram and was established by Department of Space, Government of India in 2007. IIST is regarded as the prestigious institutes in the country. IIST seeks admission every year in its B.Tech programmes through JEE Advanced.

IIST offers B.Tech programmes in the following three specializations –

  1. B.Tech – Aerospace Engineering

  2. B.Tech- Avionics and

  3. B.Tech – Physical Sciences

IIST 2015 Admission

IIST 2015 Admission Process will commence in the first week of July, 2015. IIST will invite application from the eligible students of India for admission in the undergraduate B.Tech programmes for the academic session 2015-16. The admission will be offered on the basis of the Rank secured by the candidates in JEE Advanced 2015.

IIST 2015 Eligibility Criteria:

Below mentioned are the minimum eligibility conditions that must be met by the candidates to be eligible for the IIST 2015 Admission:

  • The applicants must be the citizen of India to be eligible to apply

  • The applicant should qualify the JEE Advanced 2015 Exam and hold a rank

  • She/he should have passed the qualifying examination with the following subjects – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

  • The candidates should have secured at least 70% aggregate marks in the Qualifying Examination (QE) while SC/ST/PWD Category candidates should have secured at least 60% aggregate marks.

Qualifying Examination as per IIST 2015 Admission

The qualifying examination to be considered can be any of the following-

  • Intermediate (10+2) recognised by any of the central or public state Board.

  • Higher secondary Vocational education.

  • Two year duration course of the joint services wing of National Defence Academy.

  • High school certificate Examination of the Cambridge University.

  • General certificate education Examination (London/Cambridge, Shri Lanka) at Advanced Level.

  • Intermediate (10+2) by National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) with at least 5 subjects.

IIST 2015 Selection Criteria:

As per the admission norms, the students will selected for counselling and admission on the basis of their performance in JEE Advance 2015 Exam, conducted by IITs.

IIST 2015 Application Process:

The application process of IIST 2015 would be completely online. The eligible students will have to register themselves for the IIST 2015 Admission on the official website of IIST 2015. The IIST 2015 Application form will be available for the candidates in the month of July, 2015.

IIST 2015 Application Fee:

For successful registration, the eligible candidates willing to apply will have to make the payment of the prescribed the application fee. Check details below-

  • Male candidates (General/OBC-NCL) : Rs 600/-

  • Female candidates (General/OBC-NCL) : Rs 300/-

  • All SC/ST/PD candidates : Rs 300/-

Payment of the Fee for IIST 2015 Admission:

  • The payment of the requisite amount will be applicable in any of the branch of State Bank of India (SBI) or Union Bank of India(UBI)

  • After successful online registration, the payment of fee can be made using the Bank challan.

IIST 2015 Counselling and Admission

IIST will organize the counselling to allot seats to the shortlisted candidates based on their Rank in JEE Advanced. The seat allotment will be subject to the availability of the seat at their turn.
