Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University is situated in the historic Agra city of Uttar Pradesh state. The University was earlier known as Agra University and is now considered as one of the oldest institutions in Uttar Pradesh. In the year 1996, the University was renamed as Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University. Students of 07 districts of Agra Division, namely, Agra, Mainpuri, Aligarh, Firozabad, Hathras, Etah and Mathura are catered by the University. Sarojini Naidu Medical College is among the premier and oldest Medical Institute of the country which is affiliated to the Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University. Currently, there are approximately 200 affiliated colleges in Agra University and 15 residential institutes spread out in its 04 residential campuses such as Khandari Campus, Paliwal Park, Chhaleshar Campus and Civil Lines Campus.
