IAS 2017– Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the most prestigious of all the entrance examinations i.e. the Indian Administrative Services Examination to select the able candidates to run the administrative mechanism of the country. The notification cum application form the current year recruitment will be uploaded on its official website from 22 February 2017. Lakh of candidates will be vying for the 1100 seats to be able to occupy the top of the decision making body. Important Dates as per the IAS 2017:

Following are the important dates as per the IAS 2017 is concerned:
• Release of the notification cum Application form for the IAS 2017 –22 February 2017
• Last date to fill the application form – 22 February 2017 to March 17, 2017
• Date of release of the IAS Admit Card 2017 – 22 May 2017
• Date of IAS Preliminary exam 2017– 18 June 2017
• Date of IAS Main exam 2017 – 03rd December 2016

IAS 2017 Exam Pattern:

IAS Examination is conducted in two phases- Preliminary and Main Examination.
Preliminary Exam:
• It will be comprised of two compulsory papers of 200 marks each.
• Paper – I is General Studies and Paper-II is Civil Services Aptitude Test.
• Both papers will be objective in nature and will be set in both Hindi and English.
Main Examination:
• It will include a total of nine papers; all of them will be conventional essay type questions.
• Paper I and Paper II of the Main Exam are qualifying in nature while the remaining seven papers will be based on the optional subjects that will be chosen by the candidate.
• The maximum marks for the two qualifying papers will be 300 each and that for the remaining seven papers will be 250 marks.

IAS 2017 Application Form :

The application form will be accepted through online only. The application form will be available on the Commission’s website. The applicant will have to fill the application form by completing the two-parts of the form viz. Part-I and Part-II Registration. In the part- I registration, candidates will have to fill in all the details and upload the scanned imaged of the photo & signature. In Part-II, candidates will have to make payment of the requisite application.
