Banking is one of the most sought after careers for most finance and accounts enthusiasts. In the recent years, the diversification of businesses of banking institutions has opened up a wide range of career options. One of the most exciting and rewarding career opportunities in the banking sector is that of a Bank Probationary Officer (P.O). The post of Probationary Officer in a bank offers an entry into a status career that is not just well paid, but is relatively secure as well. Public Sector banks in India recruit to this entry-level post of Probationary Officer through a common selection process that is undertaken by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). A total of 19 public sector banks in India participates in this common recruitment process that is conducted by the IBPS. The Institute conducts a Common Written Exam (CWE) and the various participating banks use these CWE scores to shortlist candidates to the post of Probationary Officer (PO). The shortlisted candidates are then called for group discussions and personal interviews and the final selection to the posts is done on the basis of the combined scores of candidates in both the stages of the selection process.

This year the IBPS PO Exam is scheduled to take place in the month of October 2015. The Preliminary Exam will be held first on 3,4,10 & 11 October 2015 after which IBPS will conduct the Main Exam for shortlisted candidates on 31 October 2015. Candidates appearing for the IBPS PO Preliminary Exam can expect their results to be announced in the third week of October 2015. The results will be put up at ibps.in. However, since the Preliminary Exam is only qualifying in nature, the IBPS PO 2015 Result will only indicate the status of candidates who have qualified for the main exam.   • The IBPS PO 2015 Result for the Preliminary Exam will be readily accessible through the official website of the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). Candidates simply need to provide details of their registration number/roll number and password/date of birth in order to be able to access their results online.
  • The Preliminary Exam will have three papers namely English Language, Reasoning Ability, and Quantitative Aptitude. While the English Language paper will be for a total of 30 marks, the remaining two papers will be for a total of 35 marks each. Candidates must obtain the minimum IBPS PO 2015 Cut off marks, in order to be declared as qualified for the Main Exam.
