About SSC JE Exam Pattern

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the SSC JE Exam in the month of December which draws a huge number of candidates to appear in this coveted examination. There are various job openings at various Government run institutions or departments through this exam. That is why this exam becomes very important as per the competitive calendar is concerned.

As we know that with every passing year the competition in the SSC JE Exam is increasing leaps and bounds and therefore the techniques and preparation of the exam should also change accordingly. Selection of candidates to the posts of junior engineer is conducted by SSC in three stages, the detail of which is as follows:

Paper I: Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)

• General Intelligence & Reasoning (50 marks)
• General Awareness (50 marks)
• One of the Papers- Civil & Structural or Electrical or Mechanical (100 marks)

Paper II: This paper is conventional type paper which carries 300 marks. Candidates have to answer questions in only one part (questions of their trade):

• Civil & Structural or
• Electrical or
• Mechanical Engineering.

Stage III: Candidates who qualify in both the papers are called for personality Test/ interview. Interview carries 100 marks.

Written test will consists of two papers namely Paper -I and Paper-II. Paper-I will consist of Objective Type Multiple Choice questions only and Paper-II will be Conventional Type questions. There will be negative marking of 1/4 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I.

After qualifying in the written exams, the selected candidates are then called for personal interview at the allotted centers after which the final result is announced in the month of May the next year.

 Application fees:

  • An application fee for general/OBC category candidate is 100/- only
  • Candidates from reserved quota SC/ST and girls from all categories will exempted from any fees
  • Candidates can deposit fee of application through the State Bank I-collect option online otherwise they can pay auto generated challan of SBI bank.
