The Counselling process for admission into premier engineering colleges will be carried out by by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JOSAA). JoSAA 2015 consists of four stages which can be understood through the following diagram:
Online Registration (Furnishing of Personal details) → Choice Filling (furnishing of course details) → seat Allocation by JoSAA → Admission into the alloted colleges.
The Admission into IITs and ISM Dhanbaad (accredited now as IIT) will be through JEE Advance Merit list and Admission into NITs, IIITs and other fully/partially Funded Government Colleges through JEE (Main) merit list and JoSAA 2015 Counselling will consider both the Merit Lists for Counselling.
