JEE Advanced counselling will be allotting seat to the candidates those who have qualified the JEE Advanced exam. The counselling will be conducted by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JOSAA). Candidates those who have qualified the JEE Advanced exam will only be allowed to appear in JEE Advanced 2016 counselling. They will have to go through all the counselling rounds for seat allotment. Various process included in JEE Advanced counselling are online registration, choice filling and locking, JEE Advanced Seat Allotment, document verification, reporting to the allotted institute, etc.
Candidates will first have to register themselves for the counselling process. They will have to provide some basic details and pay registration fees as well. Then these candidates will have to fill and submit the choices of colleges and courses for their admission. These choices must be in decreasing order of their preference, i.e. the most preferred college must be placed first. Once candidates have done with choice filling, then they will have to lock them. Candidates will not be able to make any changes in their choices once they have locked them.
After locking the seats candidates will have to wait for JEE Advanced Seat Allotment Result. It will be available on the website of JoSAA. Candidates will have to visit the website and login by entering their credentials. Their they will be able to check the institute allotted to them. Once candidates have been allotted a seat in the counselling round, they will have to visit the respective reporting center with all the required documents for their verification. Candidates must make sure that they take all the document with them as any mistake may cause them their seat in the institute. Candidates also need to pay fees at the reporting center.
Candidates then will have to visit the allotted institute with the document verification slip and a copy of JEE Advanced Seat Allotment Result. Their they need to complete all the admission formalities as soon as possible otherwise that particular seat’s status will be set vacant for the next counselling rounds. Candidates will be allotted seat on the basis of their merit, choices entered by them, preference set by them, vacancy in institute, etc.
